> Dear All,
> The 2021 Galaxy Community Conference <https://www.vibconferences.be/events/gcc2021-virtual-edition> (GCC2021) will take place in a virtual format from 28 June to 10 July 2021. GCC brings together hundreds of faculty, clinicians, researchers, and students, all working in and supporting data-intensive science that is accessible, sharable and reproducible.
> The conference will be affordable, especially for researchers and students based in low, lower-middle, or upper-middle income countries <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1aFR1b8Al0DE0Ovn1pFJYlLchVUl2At82Dt4MRudvtRY/edit?usp=sharing>. Please send an email to conferences at vib.be <mailto:conferences at vib.be> to request a discount code before purchasing your tickets.
> Conference events <https://gcc2021.sched.com/> will be held twice, once in their original Ghent time zone (GCC EMEA + APAC) <https://gcc2021.sched.com/overview/type/B.+Meeting-EMEA-APAC>, and again 9 hours later in the Americas (GCC Americas) <https://gcc2021.sched.com/overview/type/C.+Meeting-Americas>. The event features a training week, three days of conference, and two days of CollaborationFest (CoFest).
> Training week
> All training sessions are pre-recorded, so you can work through them at your own pace, and manage your own time. A large community of trainers from the Galaxy Training Network (GTN) <https://training.galaxyproject.org/> will be available 24/7 for online support to answer all your questions on Slack (a chat platform). The training week features 3 Training Tracks, aimed at scientists, developers and system administrators. Details on the Science, Developer and Admin Tracks can be found on the GCC2021 Training Week page <https://galaxyproject.org/events/gcc2021/training/>.
> GCC2021 welcomes submissions that use, implement, or extend the Galaxy platform and ecosystem, including - but not limited to - integrating and analyzing large and diverse datasets in any area of research; enhancing reproducibility in computational analyses, and fostering collaboration and communication in scientific workflow development.
> Presentations can be regular talks (15 minutes), lightning talks (5-6 minutes), posters and/or demos. Abstract submission <https://www.vibconferences.be/events/gcc2021-virtual-edition#abstracts> for talks and poster/demos is open until May 7.
> The CoFest will be organised around the different Galaxy Working Groups <https://galaxyproject.org/community/wg/>. If you have an idea for a project, you can register it already as a cluster idea <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1c0L4mc7s2JOx0uq6HGP3QE3V5Za20GfCh1e-KKbOoV4/edit#>. If you would like to participate in a proposed project, you can also sign up <https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15TWgpszWEF_QHfWIG818UYJMagcRiio7PckhxrmJtiM/edit#gid=0>.
